National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA)

NRSA

National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) is an autonomous organisation under Department of Space, Govt. of India engaged in operational remote sensing activities. The operatisonal use of remote sensing applications is in the fields of water resources, agriculture, soil and land degradation, mineral exploration, groundwater targetting, geomorphological mapping, coastal and ocean resources monitoring, environment, ecology and forest mapping, landuse and landcover mapping and urban area studies, large scale mapping, etc.

The chief activities are satellite data and aerial data reception, data processing, data dissemination, applications for providing value added services and training.

NRSA has its own ground station at Shadnagar, 60 Km south of Hyderabad to acquire remote sensing satellite data from Indian Remote Sensing satellites, the latest being IRS-P4, and other foreign satellites like LandSat, NOAA, ERS etc. Two modern Aircraft (BeachCraft 200) having INS, K-GPS fitted with Multi-spectral Scanner, Photogrammetric Cameras, SAR, Electromagnetic Sensors are available for aerial remote sensing.

RADARSAT International

RADAR SAT

RADARSAT International was formed in 1989, and over the years has established itself as a reputable provider of information solutions based on satellite-derived data. By combining information obtained from Earth observation (EO) satellites with other data sources such as climate/field data, baseline geographic information, and Internet-based information, RSI has successfully responded to the changing business needs of the spatial data community.

RSI's long history of innovation can be attributed to the adoption of ground-breaking technology, along with the exceptional commitment to its partners and clients. Our clients are sophisticated users of EO data and often combine information from many different satellites to ensure an accurate "picture" of what they are monitoring.

RSI provides data from most commercially-available (and soon to be available) EO satellites, including RADARSAT-1, RADARSAT-2, LANDSAT 4/5, LANDSAT 7, IKONOS, IRS, ERS, QuickBird, EROS and ENVISAT. This integrated, multi-sensor approach keeps our clientele at the cutting edge of advanced information solutions, and offers support to resource managers, disaster agencies, decision-makers, and other users of satellite-based information.

SeadarQ

Optech

SeaDarQ has developed in close cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of traffic and watermanagement a system to detect, monitor and predict the movement of oil slicks and sheens. By taking data from an X band navigation or VTS radar SeaDarQ can detect and continuously monitor oil spills throughout the day and night and has been proven with radiagreen, diesel, ifo 30, fuel oil, Norwegian crude oil, bilge water and marine diesel. SeaDarQ has been used in practical oil spill situations including The Prestige, Tricolor, and Margaret
and has been proven to detect oil slicks in the Mediterranean, Baltic and Atlantic under all kinds of weather conditions.
